Brick Kiln Advanced Technologies
Composite design, development and manufacture for aerospace, defence and scientific customers. From first concept to finished part.
Services
Bring us a problem at any stage. We can take on one part of the job or carry it from idea to production.
Design and engineering
Concept and detail design of composite parts and assemblies, laminate definition and design for manufacture.
Functional composites
Structures that do more than carry load: RF and electromagnetic shielding, thermal management and electrical function built into the laminate.
Materials and process development
New materials, thin-ply and hybrid laminates, and process trials to prove a material or method works before you commit.
Prototypes and demonstrators
Fast-turnaround development and demonstrator parts, built with the speed we are used to in Formula One.
Tooling and production
Patterns, moulds and low-volume production parts, made at our site in Banbury.
Collaborative R&D
Partnering with industry and universities on funded research and development, including Innovate UK projects.
Who we work with
Our customers need parts that are lighter, stiffer or do more than conventional materials allow, and need them right first time.
Aerospace
Lightweight structures, functional laminates and development parts for aerospace programmes.
Defence
Composite parts and materials where weight and shielding matter.
Science and research
Ultra-light, precise structures for physics experiments and research instruments.
Advanced engineering
Any sector with a hard composite problem and a need for speed.
What we have been doing
Composite laminates for RF and EM shielding
With the University of Oxford Department of Physics, we are developing thin-ply composite laminates that provide both structural performance and radio frequency and electromagnetic shielding. Funded by Innovate UK.
Ultra-light structures for particle physics
Lightweight composite support structures for particle physics detectors where low mass and precision are critical.
From first conversation to part
- TalkTell us the problem. We are happy to sign an NDA before you share anything sensitive.
- FeasibilityWe look at materials, design and manufacturing options and tell you honestly what is achievable.
- Develop and proveDesign, trials, prototypes and testing until the solution is proven.
- ManufactureTooling and production at our site in Banbury.
Built on Formula One pace and precision
Formula One demands composite parts that are light, stiff, right first time and delivered against hard deadlines. That is the environment our people and processes come from.
BKAT was established in 2026 to apply that capability to aerospace, defence and scientific work, with its own team and a focus on new technologies.
BKAT grew out of Brick Kiln Composites, a Tier 1 supplier to Formula One.
